Tweet This: Twitter Use Climbs Among Adult Users

Of all the adults who are online, 15% of them use Twitter, and 8% of them use the social network on a daily basis, according to a Pew Internet Survey.

The ] survey was conducted by the Princeton Survey Research Associates International and showed adult users have remained steady for nearly a year. In May of last year, 13% of online adults used Twitter, but only 4% used it daily. The daily usage has quadrupled since late 2010.

The increase in daily usage may be a correlation with the simplicity of the site’s app. According to a recent study by comScore, 96.5% of Twitter users’ minutes were spent through its app.

The Pew Internet research surveyed 2,253 adults from Jan. 20 to Feb. 19, and then sampled 2,254 adults from March 15 to April 3. The surveys were conducted over the telephone.
